Our Lady of Graces 30 cm

Hand-painted majolica ceramic depicting the Our Lady of Graces, patroness of the city of Faenza.

The Virgin Mary holds broken arrows in her hands, a symbol of a scourge that has been halted: this is how she appeared in 1412 to a woman, promising her intercession to stop the terrible plague that was ravaging Faenza.

The colors are applied with small brushes, layer by layer, creating a soft, even effect. It is a true painting on ceramic, a one-of-a-kind piece resulting from the ceramist’s mastery.

Dimensions of the Our Lady of Graces: width 20 cm; height 30 cm.
