Holy water stoup 26 x 21 cm Compendiario

Hand-modeled holy water stoup in an unusual shape and in a single piece, hand-painted in Compendiary style.

The Compendiario is a typical decoration of Faenza characterized by the white stanniferous glaze that enhances the shapes of the ceramic. Widespread in the 16th century, it is also known by the nickname “the whites of Faenza” because Faenza was unrivaled in the beauty of enamel.

A delicate fretwork, typical of Compendiario barberries, and a decoration with the typical colors of this style was made on this surface. Inside, a graceful putto seems to hint at a greeting.

Compendiary ceramic stoup dimensions: width 21 cm, height 26 cm, thickness 10 cm.
